UNU-IIGH and IUE-CAS Forge Partnership to Advance Global Health and Environmental Sustainability

The United Nations University International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH) and the Institute of Urban Environment (IUE), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) have entered into a formal partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement establishes a framework for collaboration in research and policy development at the intersection of urban environmental health and sustainable development.

Key Areas of Cooperation Include:

  • Urban health and environmental studies, focusing on pollution mitigation and climate resilience

  • Capacity building initiatives for researchers and policymakers

  • Knowledge sharing on environmental governance practices

The agreement outlines plans for joint research projects, academic exchanges, and policy recommendations, with initial activities targeting urban health challenges in developing regions.
